CLEANING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device capable of satisfactorily controlling the polarity of residual toner even in using a low-resistant image carrier, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the cleaning device. SOLUTION: The cleaning device includes: a conductive member 21 that comes in contact with the surface of the image carrier 11 and controls the charged polarity of the toner which should be removed from the surface of the image carrier 11; a cleaning member 22 for electrostatically cleaning the toner whose charged polarity is controlled; and a grounded counter member 16 located in a position on the rear side of the image carrier 11 and facing the conductive member 21; wherein a resistor is provided between the counter member 16 and the ground. A belt having a volume resistivity of 1×109to 1×1014Ωcm is used as the image carrier 11. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
