Disclosed is a sodium ion battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a sodium ion non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the negative electrode comprises a negative electrode active material and a negative electrode current collector comprising aluminum or an aluminum alloy. Also disclosed is use of a negative electrode current collector comprising aluminum or an aluminum alloy as a negative electrode current collector for a sodium ion secondary battery.
