A method and arrangement for recognizing objects (G) or body parts located in the closing path of a displacement element (V), wherein the displacement element (V) which is moved by means of a driving device (M) is surrounded by a stop element (A) and makes contact therewith at least in the closed state, and, in the case of camera-assisted detection of an object (G) or body part, a stop or reversing of the closing movement of the displacement element (V) is brought about. In this case, at least two cameras (X, Y) are arranged at different positions and are each aligned with a defined observance region (O) of the stop element (A), which region faces the displacement element (V), wherein each camera (X, Y), preferably simultaneously with the other camera (X, Y) in each case, produces monitoring images (Bx, B?) of the observance region (O), and a comparison between the monitoring images (Bx, B?) is carried out by means of a processor unit (P), wherein non-coincidence of the monitoring images (Bx, B?) leads to a control signal (S) being output to the driving device (M) in order to stop or to reverse the closing movement of the displacement element (V). |
