<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording method and a recording apparatus for an optical recording medium, which can adjust exposure intensity when recording information on the optical recording medium by using a pulsed laser beam, and to provide a multi-layer optical recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The recording method for the optical recording medium records optically changed portions as information by using a pulsed laser beam to expose the optical recording medium. In the recording method, the optical recording medium is irradiated with a pulsed laser beam while causing at least one of the optical recording medium and the pulsed laser beam to be moved relative to each other, a length (pit length Lp) of one optically changed portion is associated with a scanning length Ls of a plurality of pulses of pulsed laser beam, and the exposure intensity of one optically changed portion is adjusted by causing a shutter to selectively reduce the number of pulses of the pulsed laser beam when recording one optically changed portion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
