<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably maintain physical properties of a carrier in a developing device in a developing system using a two-component developer, to control a toner concentration of the developer supplied to the developing device to a fixed value while suppressing the occurrence of faults such as the rise of image density and fogging regardless of a long-time use, and to enhance the handling accuracy of the toner concentration of the developer in the developing device to be able to accurately control the toner concentration of the developer in the developing device. <P>SOLUTION: In a trickle development system where a toner and a carrier are replenished to a developing device and development is performed while discharging a surplus developer in the developing device, a mass ratio of the carrier in a developer for replenishment which is replenished to a developing device 10 is detected, and the mass ratio is compared with a mass ratio of the carrier in the developer for replenishment stored in a container 230 of the developer for replenishment, and in the case that the mass ratios are different, a mechanism for reducing the deviation of the toner concentration of the developer for replenishment stored in the container 230 is operated to make the toner concentration uniform in the container 230. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
