PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when an ink-jet device using ink containing volatile components is used for recording, the ink inside a recording head increases in temperature and thickens by the vaporization of the volatile component of the ink near a nozzle, causing cases where recording cannot be conducted appropriately. SOLUTION: An ink-jet recording device (1) uses ink containing volatile component. Such ink-jet recording device (1) includes a recording head (9) having a temperature sensor (21) which detects the temperature of the ink and a controlling means (20) which controls the recording head so as to conduct idle driving motion for slightly vibrating an ink meniscus and a reserve discharging motion. It is also provided with a changing means (20) which changes the number of times of the idle driving motion and the spare discharging motion in accordance with the temperature detected by the temperature sensor (21).
