PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of a reciprocating engine near a top dead center, eliminate vibration like that of a vibrator, and reduce the cost of an engine body. SOLUTION: In the transmission mechanism of the reciprocating engine, a first connecting rod connected to a piston and a second connecting rod connected to a crank pin are connected by a connecting rod connection pin, and a power arm for transmitting power is connected to a new power shaft rotatably attached to a casing by connecting one end of the power arm to the connecting rod connecting pin, and fixing the other end of the power arm to an outer ring liner of a one-way clutch with an inner ring liner fixed to the power shaft, in order to extract engine output by the new power shaft. The vertical motion of the piston is made possible by the rotational motion of a crankshaft by the mechanism. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
