<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trommel type waste sorting apparatus capable of achieving the enhancement of the sorting capacity of organic matter such as garbage or the like. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the trommel type waste sorting apparatus, a pipe 24c is provided in a rotary drum 24 so that one end part 24c1 of the pipe 24c is positioned on one end part side of the rotary drum 24 while the other and part 24c2 thereof is positioned at the intermediate part ranging from one end part of the rotary drum 24 to the other end part thereof and the gas flowing in from one end part 24c1 by a blower is discharged from the other end part 24c2. Since a flexible pipe, which produces bending by discharging the gas from the other end part 24c2 to change a gas discharge direction at random, is used as the pipe 24c, the sorting capacity for enabling effective stirring of this waste sorting apparatus is enhanced.
