PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of safely and simply producing a porous gold film having uniform nanoscale pores. Ž
SOLUTION: Gold is subjected to anodic oxidation in an aqueous solution of a carboxylic acid or carboxylate. The carboxylic acid or the carboxylate can be selected from formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, lactic acid, oxalic acid, malonic acid, succinic acid, maleic acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, and citric acid and the salts. A potential applied to a gold electrode is preferably in the range of about +1.5 to about 11 V with respect to a potential of a standard hydrogen electrode. Thereby, a uniform porous gold film having a pore size of several nanometers to several hundreds of nanometers is formed. Ž
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
