PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air treatment device and an air treatment method capable of keeping an indoor space where equipment discharging dirty air is installed clean while suppressing required cost and maintenance. SOLUTION: The air treatment device (100) includes: a storage region (125) storing the equipment (10) discharging dirty air; a treatment chamber (130) arranged on the upper side of the storage region (125) and sucking and treating air discharged to inside of the storage region (125); and side walls (122, 123) surrounding the storage region (125) and having a flow passage (A) communicated with the treatment chamber (130) and guiding air treated by the treatment chamber (130) to the direction along the extending direction of the side walls (122, 123) and discharge ports (122c, 122d, 123c, 123d) for discharging air guided by the flow passage (A) to inside of the storage region (125).
