A process for producing a porous stretched polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) film or tape having catalyst particles supported thereon is improved. Provided is a process for producing a porous stretched PTFE film or tape having catalyst particles supported thereon, the process comprising the step of preparing a porous PTFE tape, the step of impregnating the porous PTFE tape with a solution or dispersion of catalyst particles, the step of substantially removing the solvent or dispersion medium, and the step of stretching the porous PTFE tape containing the catalyst particles in the machine direction (MD) and/or the transverse direction (TD).
