A mug holder that surrounds lower part of a mug and its handle and can nest with others for transport

A support (1) for stabilising a handled mug (8) on a table or the like is disclosed. The support (1) effectively widens the base area of the mug (8) helping to prevent any spills. The support (1) has a body (2) with a shaped cavity (5) having tapered sides. The cavity (5) has two parts the first being configured to receive the main body of the handled container the second part configured to surround a portion of the mug's handle (9). The tapered sides mean that two or more of the supports may nest within each other for compact transportation. The support (1) may of course be used for any other type of container for beverages, with or without a handle and afford a similar protection from spills.
