<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell capable of setting a power generation area of an electrode body in the widest range, by effectively eliminating generation of an excessive surface pressure area and a surface pressure nonexistent area, even when compressive force of acting in stacking, acts in a concentrated manner on a laminated place of reinforcing films. <P>SOLUTION: This fuel cell is composed of a membrane electrode assembly 3, a gas permeation layer arranged on its both sides and a separator 7 of a three-layer structure arranged on any one gas permeation layer side and formed by laminating a first plate 71, an intermediate layer 73 and a second plate 72. The fuel cell has an absorbing mechanism of freely absorbing deflection of at least a first plate 71 or a second plate 72 in an area corresponding to a laminated place X of the reinforcing films 9 and 9' among the intermediate layer 73, by forming the laminated place X by laminating these parts on catalyst layers 2 and 2', by interposing the reinforcing films 9 and 9' between a peripheral edge exposed area 1a uncovered with the catalyst layers 2 and 2' of an electrolyte film 1 and the gas permeation layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
