<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure that facilitates a user to know whether an IC card is correctly inserted in an electronic device used with the IC card. <P>SOLUTION: The electronic device which is driven by a battery while holding an IC card having a cutout part includes an IC card reverse insertion preventing mechanism. When the IC card is not correctly stored in an IC card holding part, at least part of the IC card reverse insertion preventing tool is left within a battery storing recess so that the battery cannot be stored in the battery storing recess.
