<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stable and efficient decomposition treatment of oil-and-fat containing wastewater under low temperature and high pH conditions using a microorganism. <P>SOLUTION: In search of a microorganism capable of decomposing the oil-and-fat containing wastewater under the low temperature and high pH conditions among microorganisms collected from soil, compost, effluent treatment facilities of a food industry, and so on, we have found a new microorganism called Burkholderia multivorans proliferable at 10°C, pH 10 and having an oil-and-fat decomposition capability. Moreover, when used in combination with another new microorganism having an excellent oil-and-fat decomposition capability, this new microorganism can efficiently decompose oil-and-fat contained in the wastewater whose temperature and pH possibly fluctuate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
