PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a superconducting coil having improved performance; a rotary device; and a method for manufacturing the superconducting coil.

SOLUTION: The superconducting coil 10 is a saddle type superconducting coil having a superconducting wire material wound like a racetrack and includes a bent portion 10b and a straight portion 10a connected to the bent portion 10b. In the bent portion 10b, an upper edge 10c is positioned in inner circumferential side from a lower edge 10d, and in the straight portion 10a, the upper edge 10c is positioned on the outer circumferential side from the lower edge 10d.
