PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To duly discriminate quality of an objective lens when design temperature and inspection temperature are different in a method of inspecting an objective lens for an optical recording medium. SOLUTION: The method of inspecting the plastic objective lens for the optical recording medium designed by defining a first temperature as a design temperature includes: a first step of obtaining shape and refractive index of the objective lens at a second temperature different from the first temperature; a second step of determining a thickness of a parallel plate for calculation to minimize an aberration of an optical system consisting of the objective lens with the shape and refractive index at the second temperature and a parallel plate for calculation having the same material as a parallel plate for inspection and the refractive index at the second temperature; and a third step of inspecting the objective lens produced based on the design at the second temperature by using the parallel plate for inspection with the same thickness as the parallel plate for calculation determined at the second step.
