<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamable resin composition capable of producing a foam-insulated material having a uniform foaming degree, high foaming degree, small pore diameter and low dielectric constant, a method for producing the same and a foam-insulated electric cable having a mechanical strength enduring bending etc., by using the same. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This foamable resin composition obtained by dispersing a foam-nucleating agent in the base resin comprises thin platelet-formed fine particles in which fine particles having a hollow structure are used as the foam-nucleating agent, and mixed with the base resin, and the mixture is crushed and dispersed.
