<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve throughput while preventing failures caused by heating. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a liquid ejection method, a drive signal is generated at a drive signal generating section, and a drive element is driven with the drive signal to eject fluid from the head. The liquid ejection method includes: detecting the temperature of the drive signal generating section with a temperature sensor; selecting either a first ejection mode or a second ejecting mode wherein the relation between the temperature of the drive element and the temperature detected with the temperature sensor is different from the first ejection mode; performing a waiting operation for allowing the drive signal generation section to wait the generation of the drive signal to wait the ejection of the liquid from the head when the temperature detected with the temperature sensor exceeds a first threshold value in the case where the first ejection mode is selected; and performing a waiting operation when the temperature detected with the temperature sensor exceeds a second threshold value different from the first threshold value in the case where the second ejection mode is selected.
