The present invention relates to a writing implement, both ends of which are retractable, in which an upper shaft and a lower shaft are coupled together such that the two shafts are rotatable relative to each other, and thus a cartridge and an eraser holder accommodated in an intermediate connection member are simultaneously movable in the upward and downward directions. The writing implement of the present invention comprises: said cartridge equipped with a writing nib; said intermediate connection member having a slit for upward and downward sliding of the cartridge accommodated therein; said lower shaft coupled to the intermediate connection member, and which has a nib hole for extending / retracting the nib therethrough; said upper shaft having a thread which enables the cartridge accommodated in the intermediate connection member to move in accordance with the integrated rotation of the intermediate connection member and the lower shaft; a cam coupled to one end of the upper shaft, and which has an inner wall with a protrusion; an eraser holder accommodated in the intermediate connection member such that the eraser holder engages the protrusion of the cam and the slit of the intermediate connection member and rotates in the upward and downward directions in accordance with the integrated rotation of the intermediate connection member and the lower shaft; and a ball shutter accommodated in the lower shaft to open/shut the nib hole by means of the upward and downward sliding of the cartridge. |
