The carrier element (10) has a hollow profile (12) with two wall areas (14,16) that is at a distance from each other, where the hollow profile is attached on a corresponding carrier area of a carrier (30) of a motor car. The wall areas project in extension direction of the hollow profile. An independent claim is also included for carrier arrangement.
