A retractable wheel assembly for a boat dolly includes a wheel strut 4 pivotally mounted at a first mount point 15, an over-centre locking arm 1 pivoting on mounting point 14 and a link arm handle 2 that is pivotally mounted near or at its respective ends to the respective distal ends of the wheel strut and the locking arm. From the retracted position the locking arm must first be rotated around the pivot 14 in a first direction 16 to straighten the elbow 13 before then being rotated around the pivot 14 in the opposite direction 11 to move the wheel to the extended position.
