<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting device that improves its light emitting output. <P>SOLUTION: The light emitting device 1 has first and second semiconductor layers; a semiconductor laminate structure 10 which has an active layer 105 interposed between the first and second semiconductor layers; a central electrode provided on one surface of the semiconductor laminate structure 10; a surface electrode 110 having thin-line electrodes extended from the outer periphery of the central electrode; a plurality of first regions, each of which forms the shortest current path between it and each thin-line electrode and is provided in parallel with each thin-line electrode and along each thin-line electrode, on the other surface of the semiconductor laminate structure 10 except the part just under the surface electrode 110; and a contacting part 120 which has a plurality of second regions for connecting the plurality of first regions with each other. The surface electrode 110 has an arrangement that the shortest current path between the central electrode and the contacting part 120 is longer than the shortest current path between the thin-line electrode and the first region, and has at least a region which has a length not shorter than the shortest current path between the end of the thin-line electrode and the first region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
