<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a fault condition of an optical fiber cable in real time in a site of work related to a closure for the optical fiber cable. <P>SOLUTION: In a fault notification system 1, a transmission apparatus 2 is connected to two optical lines 8 for a fault formed into a loop-like shape, and transmits fault data related to an optical line 7 for communication in two different directions via the two lines. A receiving device 4 is incorporated in the closure 3, connected to the two optical lines 8 for a fault in a non-disconnection state and receives fault data from two different directions via the two lines. A photoelectric conversion device 5 converts an optical signal received by the receiving device 4 to an electric signal. A PC 6 receives the electric signal converted by the photoelectric conversion device 5, displays fault data, and outputs sound. A slave station 9 monitors the communication condition of the optical line 7 for communication. A master station 10 communicates with each slave station 9 and the transmission apparatus 2, monitors the communication condition of the optical line 7 for communication and the condition of each slave station 9, and transmits fault data to the transmission apparatus 2 in a fault. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
