PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to reduce the consuming amount of cleaning liquid and more surely remove foreign matters sticking to a nozzle without damaging an ink nozzle face when cleaning a recording head for forming images by discharging ink from the recording head. SOLUTION: In the cleaning method of the recording head in a printer for forming images in a recording medium by discharging ink from the recording head 110a, high frequency vibration is applied from the opposite side of the contacting face to an ink discharging face of a nonwoven cloth 11 with the nonwoven cloth 11 impregnated with the cleaning liquid brought into contact with the ink discharging face 111 of the recording head 110a. Aggregates 13 sticking to the ink discharging face 111 are dissolved and removed by the cleaning liquid blown out by the high frequency vibration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
