PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that setting for underwater environment of an imaging apparatus and operation for release the setting are troublesome. SOLUTION: The imaging system comprises the imaging apparatus 100 and a waterproof case 200 detachably attached to the imaging apparatus 100. The waterproof case 200 includes a transmission part 210 transmitting an operation instruction given by a waterproof case operation part 230. The imaging apparatus 100 includes an underwater controller 120 which sets setting in an image processing part 150 to an underwater photography mode suitable for underwater photography when a reception part 110 receives the operation instruction given by operating any operation member of the waterproof case operation part 230, and releases the set underwater photography mode when the reception part receives the operation instruction given by operating any operation member of the operation part 130.
