A pertinent information generation unit (51) generates NIT (Network Information Table) including channel selection information of the central segment of a multisegment broadcast and NIT including channel selection information of a not-central segment. A transmission unit (57) transmits the NIT of the central segment as NIT actual and the NIT of the not-central segment as NIT other by the central segment. The present invention can be applied to, for example, a broadcast station which transmits the multisegment broadcast by a terrestrial digital broadcast wave.
