The method involves providing a metal sheet (1) including a contact region (2) for retaining a contact element. A support region (4) is provided for forming an electrical connection conductor. A bend region (5) is provided between the contact region and the support region, where the bend region is made of plastic ductile material. The metal sheet is inserted into an injection molding tool. Molding of the contact region is formed for production of a retainer. The bend region is bended such that the contact region protrudes from a plane defined by the support region. An independent claim is also included for an injection molding tool for production of a molded plug contact.
