The turbine housing insulation material (1) made of a composite material, which contains a temperature-resistant hard foam (2) and has a ceramic layer (5) in the area of a contact surface of the turbine housing (4), is claimed. In a mounted state, the composite material directly or indirectly lies on the contact surface of the turbine housing in a positive-fit manner. The hard foam is partially provided with a protective film (6), which is a glass-fiber-reinforced plastic film. The turbine housing insulation material is demountably bonded with the turbine housing in a non-destructive manner. An independent claim is included for a method for producing a turbine housing insulation material.
