The skin (1) has a rear side (3) at which the skin is fastened to a rear side of a ski using an adhesive. A front side (2) is formed by a ground fabric (5) and a web (4) arranged on the ground fabric. The web does not exist up to the ground fabric in a front side-center region (8), which extends in a longitudinal direction of the skin. A lubricating layer (9) is deeply superimposed on the ground fabric in the center region, such that the layer does not reduce climbing characteristics of the skin during climbing. The layer is formed from tetrafluoroethylene, silicone or polyethylene.
