<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus for display shelves which has the lighting apparatus arranged hardly-noticeable and presentable in a small space by the front of the shelf board and can illuminate merchandises on the shelf board well and excels in eye-catching performance. <P>SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus 1 has an LED unit, which implements a plurality of LEDs 3 and power source circuits in a line at regular intervals on a strip circuit board 4, stored in an inner case 5 formed in the cross-sectional C-shaped channel material. An outer case 7 is attached to the outside of the inner case 5 and the LEDs 3 are exposed from the opening in the bottom. A transparent plate 17 is fitted to the opening of the outer case 7. A transparent projection part 17a for eye-catch is provided in a protruding condition along the longitudinal direction near the front of the lower surface of the transparent plate 17.
