<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor controller for agitating toner that suppresses power consumption at low cost by generating large torque in a stepping motor compatible with open loop control when there is a possibility of toner adhesion such as the case that toner has been kept unused due to no image formation for a long time, and to provide an image forming apparatus and a stepping motor control method. <P>SOLUTION: The stepping motor controller for agitating toner includes: an excitation current output part 117; a driving stop time level determination part 111 which determines a driving stop time level of the stepping motor 94; a storage part 115 which stores each of a plurality of start-up torque values and each of a plurality of driving stop time levels in association with each other; and a control part 110 which calculates an excitation current value for obtaining a start-up torque value to be obtained from an actually determined driving stop time level, and outputs the excitation current for obtaining the excitation current value, to the excitation current output part 117. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
