<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly control the drive of an endless moving member provided with a plurality of scale marks, and to reduce a data processing amount for drive control. <P>SOLUTION: The plurality of scale marks M on an intermediate transfer belt 10 are detected by two scale sensors 6A and 6B. While a phase difference between corresponding detection signals is calculated, a reference mark KL for one rotation of the intermediate transfer belt 10 is detected by a detection sensor 6L. A profile forming means 14 forms a profile for a pitch error of the scale marks M for one rotation of the intermediate transfer belt, correction data for a scale mark pitch is calculated from the profile, and stored. In the second and subsequent rotations of the intermediate transfer belt 10, the scale marks M are detected by one scale sensor 6A or 6B, and the moving speed of the intermediate transfer belt 10 is detected. Based on the detected moving speed of the intermediate transfer belt 10 and the correction data, the moving speed of the intermediate transfer belt 10 by the drive means 80 is feedback-controlled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
