<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrophilic anti-permeable hollow fiber membrane for blood treatment having an integrated asymmetric structure based on a synthetic polymer, and a method for producing the membrane. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The hollow fiber membrane has a separation layer having pores in the inner surface thereof, and a porous support layer adjacent to the layer, has an ultrafiltration rate in albumin solution ranging from 25 to 60 ml/(h×m<SP>2</SP>×mmHg), is free from pore stabilization additive, and has a sieving coefficient of cytochrome C of at least 0.8 and a sieving coefficient of albumin up to 0.005. A spinning solution composed of a synthetic first polymer and a hydrophilic second polymer as occasion demands is made into a hollow fiber by being through an annular slit of a hollow fiber nozzle, and a coagulant is extruded simultaneously through the central opening of the hollow fiber nozzle as internal filler. The coagulant causes coagulation within the hollow fiber to thereby form the separation layer inside the hollow fiber and also a membrane structure.
