<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user friendliness with respect to excretion action using sanitary apparatus by providing toilet seats suitable for each user. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The sanitary apparatus includes: a western-style toilet bowl that is used by the user for excretion; an elevating and lowering means which elevates and lowers the position of the western-style toilet bowl; and a start operation means which instructs the start of the elevation and lowering of the western-style toilet bowl. The western-style toilet basin has a plurality of toilet seats suitable for users and starts a toilet seat drive means which supplies a predetermined toilet seat from among the toilet seats to the upper surface of the western-style toilet basin depending on the elevation and lowering position of the western-style toilet bowl by the elevating and lowering means, thereby providing a toilet seat suitable for the physical size of the user.
