PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow excellent image formation when the image formation is carried out by outputting a plurality of laser beams. SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes a VCSEL 208, a half mirror 212 for separating the respective laser beams output from the VCSEL 208 into monitor beams for light-quantity measurement and scanning beams for scanning a photoreceptor, a photoelectric conversion element 218 for measuring the light quantity of the monitor beam, an A/D conversion part 202 for outputting voltage according to the measured light quantity of the monitor beam, a DEV calculation part 422 for calculating an each-beam current correction value for controlling the light quantity of each laser beam based on voltages of each monitor beam, an SW calculation part 423 for calculating a common-supplied current value common to the plurality of the laser beams based on the each-beam correction value, and a GAVD 200 for controlling the light quantity of each laser beam output from the VCSEL 208 based on the each-beam current correction value and the common-supplied current value.
