Disclosed is an organic electroluminescent device which comprises: a substrate (11, 101); first electrodes (12, 102) which are formed on the substrate (11, 101) and respectively have a pixel region; partition walls (23, 203) which are formed on the substrate (11, 101) so as to partition off the first electrodes and respectively have a recessed and projected surface; a light-emitting medium layer (19, 109) which is formed on the pixel regions and the partition walls (23, 203) and has an uneven thickness on the partition walls (23, 203) in accordance with the recessed and projected shape of the partition walls; and a second electrode (17, 107) which is formed on the light-emitting medium layer (19, 109).
