<p>Provided is a liquid crystal display device which has excellent VR characteristics, while suppressing generation of liquid crystal alignment disorder. The liquid crystal display device is provided with a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the pair of substrates, and has a reflecting region and a transmitting region. One of the pair of substrates has a liquid crystal layer thickness adjusting section for making the thickness of the liquid crystal layer in the reflecting region smaller than that of the transmitting region, and a long protruding section. At least a part of the protruding section is arranged at least along a part of the step portion of the liquid crystal layer thickness adjusting section without a gap therebetween.</p> |
