<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing nanofiber which is also applicable to temporarily spun fiber, especially a fiber or the like comprising a para-aramid polymer not thermally melted and not dissolved in an organic solvent. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the nanofiber includes bumping dry ice granules or liquefied carbon dioxide against a fiber assembly such as a staple fiber, a woven fabric and a nonwoven fabric composed of the para-aramid fiber to form a part of the fiber into the nanofiber.
