PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network device whose operation can be varied depending on the kind of a control point of UPnP (Universal Plug and Play). SOLUTION: The network device corresponding to UPnP includes an HTTP message analyzing section for analyzing the features of HTTP messages sent from a control point on a network, a message pattern accumulation section for accumulating the features of HTTP messages sent by the control point, a command pattern accumulation section for accumulating the features of control commands from the control point, and a control section for controlling the network device. The message analyzing section identifies the kind of the control point based on the received HTTP messages from the control point and the message patterns accumulated by the message pattern accumulation section, and the control section performs control based on the kind of the control point identified and the command patterns accumulated in the command pattern accumulation section.
