PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assembly having a ferrule, an optical fiber, and an improved optical fiber alignment. SOLUTION: The assembly (1) has a support member (2), the ferrule (3) and the optical fiber (4) embedded in the ferrule (3). The ferrule is fixed to the support member. The ferrule is fixed to the support member. A head of the optical fiber is arranged on the support member, to which an alignment element (7) is connected, and the head of the fiber (4) is abutted on the alignment element, whereby the alignment element aligns the head of the optical fiber relative to a predetermined axis (18).
