摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the center distance between an alternator and a water pump without any constraint caused by comparatively large outside diameter dimension of the water pump on a delivery side and compactly arrange auxiliary machines in an engine width direction without immoderately requiring a space, in the arrangement structure of the auxiliary machine for an engine in which the alternator, water pump and other auxiliary machines are vertically arranged on one side of the engine. SOLUTION: The water pump 4 is elongated so that a rear end having a large outside diameter dimension is positioned rearward of the rear end of the alternator 3. A cylinder block mounting surface is thinned, upwardly extends, and is arranged to get from the lower side of the alternator 3 into the portion between the cylinder block 1 and the alternator. Using the portion where the cylinder block mounting surface portion gets into, a cooling water introduction passage extends to introduce cooling water from a delivery chamber to the water jacket of the engine block 1.
