<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radiation image generation system including a portable radiation image detecting device capable of detecting the start and stop of applying radiation by itself and performing radio communication, quickly transmitting and displaying a reduction image for re-photographing and diagnosis corresponding to the optimum preset display form. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the radiation image detecting device, a reduction image data is generated at a fixed thinning rate where a display form of a control device is reflected, and the control device conducts thinning processing to attain a preset thinning rate when the thinning rate of the received reduction image data is lower than the preset thinning rate.
