<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating asthma using a compound such as a complement inhibiting antibody, which combines with one or more complement components or prevents formation and/or activity of one or more complement components. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Asthma is treated with the compound such as the complement inhibiting antibody, which combines with one or more complement components or else prevents formation and/or activity of one or more complement components. The compound is preventively administered to prevent asthmatic attack in known asthmatic individual or administered as a treating step between asthmatic attacks. The complement inhibiting antibody is preventively administered to the known asthmatic individual (such as an individual having airway inflammation or a subject to be examined which experienced past asthmatic symptom) to prevent asthmatic attack or help to prevent it.
