<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic thread cutter of a sewing machine which has a simple and strong structure, is capable of improving the stability of thread cutting and adopting a compact driver. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This automatic thread cutter of the sewing machine is installed with a cam unit 4 synchronously rotating with a transmission shaft 2, on the transmission shaft 2 in a rotary shuttle base 1, a movable knife 3 is movably installed on the rotary shuttle base 1 by a pivot 31, and a swing arm 32 is provided below the pivot 31. The driver 5 is installed directly on the swing arm 32, a core shaft 50 of the driver 5 is radially movably expanded/contracted with respect to the cam unit 4, and the cam unit 4 comes into contact with the end of the core shaft 50 of the driver 5 to push the core shaft 50 using changes in the curved surface of the cam unit 4, thus moving and deflecting it in the axial direction of the transmission shaft 2. The swing arm 32 and the pivot 31 are rotated thereby and at the same time, operatively connectingly rotate the movable knife 3 to allow the thread laying and thread cutting operations.
