<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery data generating device, an embroidery data generating program, and a computer-readable medium that stores the embroidery data generating program that generate embroidery data that faithfully express a profile of an original form. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Boundary line data of a closed region corresponding to a profile of the original form are acquired, and cross areas each for one cross-stitch of whole shape are closely arranged contiguously in a coordinate system in which a closed region is shown. Each cross area is divided into four divided areas each of which includes a one-half the length of a cross-stitch segment as a diagonal line (S101), and a closed region coverage rate in the divided area is computed (S105). When the coverage rate is greater than or equal to 50% (S106: YES), a determination is made to form a quarter cross-stitch in the divided area (S107), and if the closed region coverage rate is neither greater than nor equal to 50% (S106: NO), a determination is made not to form a quarter cross-stitch in the divided area (S108). Determinations are made as to whether quarter cross-stitches will be formed in all of the divided areas, and the embroidery data are generated based on the determination results.
