The present invention relates to novel coumarin-based compounds, to a preparation method thereof, and to multidrug resistance inhibitory pharmaceutical compositions containing same as active ingredients. The coumarin-based compounds according to the present invention exhibit inhibitory activities against the overexpression of P-glycoprotein (Pgp) which is the main cause of multidrug resistance, and increase anticancer activities when administered in combination with anticancer drugs. Therefore, the coumarin-based compounds of the present invention can be used as agents for overcoming, treating, or controlling multidrug resistance against anticancer drugs. The coumarin-based compounds of the present invention increase the effects of anticancer drugs to raise the survival rate of cancer patients. The coumarin-based compounds of the present invention reduce the dose of anticancer drugs administered in combination with the coumarin-based compounds to reduce the side effects against normal cells, and are therefore useful in anticancer treatments. |
