Textile treatment agent comprises: (a) polymers with carboxyl groups in a concentration of 1-10 wt.%, preferably 2-4 wt.%; and (b) divalent cations in a concentration of 0.001-1 wt.%. Independent claims are also included for: (1) a method for finishing of textile fabrics, comprising treating the textile fabrics with a combination of polymers with carboxyl groups and divalent cations or with the textile treatment agent, where the treatment of the textile fabrics with the polymers and the divalent cations can takes place both in a single process step or in consecutive process steps; and (2) removing stains from the textile fabrics and/or for preventing the formation of stains on the textile fabrics, comprising treating the textile fabrics with the combination of polymers with carboxyl groups and divalent cations, where the treatment of the textile fabrics with the polymers and the divalent cations can takes place both in a single process step or in consecutive process steps.
