The vehicle has a lane change assistance system comprising left and right optical display devices (9, 10) for outputting an optical signal for signaling information and warnings to a driver of the vehicle. The display devices comprise a LED-module, where the display devices are arranged in left and right external rearview mirrors (7, 11), respectively. A control device (12) controls the display devices for determining a head and/or eye position of the driver based on an actual adjustment of the external rearview mirrors. An independent claim is also included for a method for aligning optical display devices of a lane change assistance system of a vehicle.
