<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical path cross connection apparatus remarkably reducing the scale of a matrix switch compared with a conventional apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A wavelength cross connection section WXC includes for each of N pieces of wavelengths: N-sets of matrix switches WMS1 for wavelength drop which switches between paths of yKM pieces wavelengths for configuring a drop wavelength group to a wavelength level WLL and the predetermined number of drop wavelength paths to be dropped to an electric layer EL; a matrix switch WMS2 for switching square path which switches between paths of wavelengths configuring the predetermined number of drop wavelength groups and path of wavelengths configuring the predetermined number of subscription wavelength groups thereof; and a matrix switch WMS3 for wavelength subscription which switches between paths of the predetermined number of subscription wavelengths from the electric layer EL and paths of wavelengths configuring the predetermined number of subscription wavelength groups. With this configuration, a matrix region corresponding to adding input for originally unrequired drop output is released in the wavelength level WLL. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
